Making errors in language learning process cannot be avoided. It happens
because second language learners are still developing their knowledge of
language grammar. Grammar in a language is very important for second
language learners in order to write and speak well since it deals with the
rules of the language. Therefore, the writer wanted to find out the three

submitted in their writing class. The writer analyzed several types of
grammatical mistakes that the three Korean students produced. The theory
of Corder and Ellis is used to define errors and mistakes as the essential part
in learning the foreign language grammar. Other theory used is surface
strategy taxonomy by Dulay, Burt, and Krashen. This theory classified type
of grammatical mistakes as the writer used in analyzing the data. Then, the
writer provided the correction of sentences by using table. At the end, the
writer found out five types of grammatical mistakes in the three Korean
students? writing essays (omission, addition, misformation, misordering,
and haphazard substitution mistake). In conclusion, the writer thought that
Korean students are still weak in basic grammar and they are not aware in
