An Analysis of William Falder's tragic life in John Galsworthy's Justice

This thesis is the study of Falder's tragic life in
John Galsworthy's Justice. The main character, Falder,
has to struggle against himself and other people who are
related to him, because of his weak characters.This
thesis is going to analyze the factors that lead the
character to his tragic life. Falder's relationship with
Ruth Honeywill is the important factor which causes his
downfall. He wants to do everything because of his love.
Through the external conflicts and through the relationships
with other characters, Falder's weak character is
revealed. Through the internal conflicts, Falder's weak
character is proven to be the important factor that
causes his tragic life. Falder has no hope in solving a
problem. His weak character makes him trapped in some
difficulties. He is a careless and hopeless. His inability
in facing the problem makes him choose the easy way to
solve his problems, he chooses to kill himself rather
than facing his problem. This situation leads the character
to his tragic life.
