A Study of Mark Twain's hopes, social criticism and warnings through the main character as seen in a Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's court

The thesis writer is interested in exploring one
of Mark Twaxn ' s works, namely A Connecticut Yankee in
King Arthur's Court, since it tells about his hopes,
his social criticism on the nineteenth century American
society, especially on slavery, oppression and
corruption and also the novel is his warning for the
nineteenth century American society. To show Mark
Twain's hopes and social criticism, the thesis writer analyses
the action and characters of Hank Morgan, as
the main character in the novel. Then, the thesis
writer also discuses Mark Twain's warnings on the
American society. Through the study, the thesis writer
finds out how Mark Twain uses A Connecticut Yankee in
King Arthur's Court to convey his hopes, social
criticism and trie social warning toward the nineteenth
century American society. Based on
analysis, it is concluded that Mark
and warns the nineteenth century American society about
used of modern technology .
