The title of this research is the study of slang expressions that are used by some
broadcasters on EBS 101,25 FM. The primary aim of this research is to get the form of
slang expressions that are used by the broadcasters based on the lexical meaning and
several theories of Morphology.
The writer applied the qualitative approach. The writer herself is the instrument of the
research. She collected the data from recording the on air AGENDA and REQUEST
TIME programme on EBS FM for a month.
Based on the data analysis, she found that there are 11 slangs: Ortu,CinlokJHarley
Malaiholo,Tulalit,Syur, Amrik,NATO,TST,Jorki,Gitul,Kuku. Through the analysis she
also finds that, there are slangs expressions that are formed through Compounding,
Onomatopoeia,ClippingrAcronym31ending,and Reduplication.
The findings and analysis prove mat the broadcasters do not make the new slangs
expressions, and the formation words of the slangs are easy to understand, so the
listeners of the radio can understand the slangs when they are listening to the Radio.
