The Idea of time recurrence theory as it is reflected through the characters in Priestley's I have been here before

Time recurrence theory whieh is offered in . this
play is an interesting topic to be diseussed since the
play deals with time in an unusual way and it rejects
the ordinary conception of time. An English writer,
John Boynton Priestley, presents tine recurrence theory
as the theme through the characters. Dr . Gortler as
the main character, is a professor who is studying
about time recurrence theory. He believes that he has
come across an example of in order to verify his
theory, he comes to Yorkshire inn in which the other
characters spend the night for the weekend. In fact,
the characters who stay at the inn undergo the problem
of recurrence. In short, through Dr. Gortler-s
intervention, the other characters become realize and
change their view to become optimist. Then the thesis
writer concludes that through time recurrence approach,
the characters in the play may gain the optinism.
