An Analysis of D.H. Lawrence's ideas on politics, religion and love as reflected in Kangaroo

This thesis is an analysis of D.H. Lawrence s ideas on politics, religion and love as reflected in Kangaroo. there are other fiction written about these. However, this thesis analyzes them in relation to the character named Shomers for he is the one who struggles with politics and love. As a religious man, he gives his concepts of God and they are also discussed in this thesis. This characters reflects Lawrence him self therefore. Lawrence ideas are put in the novel. The second chapter in this thesis analyzes Somers rejection regarding political affiliation caused by his previous war experience. The third chapter discusses about Somers' s concepts of God and his attitude as a religious man. In the fourth chapter, this writer talks about love in relation to women and others. Morever, thesis writer wants to show the contradictory facts given in the novel so that discussion of this thesis would be a unified one.
