The Kampung Improvement Programme is a neighbourhood improvement programme implemented whitin the low-income areas (kampung) in Indonesian cities. Improvements included roads and foothpat, drains, water supply, sanitary facilities, and omproved solid waste management. This chapter summaries the background to this programme, describes the goverment and community partnerhip which developed and suggests a future directions.
