different men. The writer only wants to find out Marian’s character in A Lost Lady
through the relationship with four different men such as, Frank Eliinger, Ivy Peters, Niel
Herbert and Captain Forrester with Marian. Besides, the writer applies literary device
namely characterization to analyze Marian’s characters. Finally, through the analysis, it is
shown that the main character does not have the power to live without men and she really
depends on men’s attention and she is also too naive and innocent to face her life. The
relationship with Niel Herbert, Frank Eliinger, Captain Forrester and Ivy Peters will help the writer to describe the character of Marian.
