The Study of exchange structure by identified moves in the interrogations of the judge-witness and the judge-defendant in the cross examination of a small case

The Interesting part of the court is the interrogation. In there, the Judge, the Witness, and the Defendant negotiate and distribute the information about the case. Based on the reason above, the writer wanted to know about which exchange structure occurred the most in the interrogations of the Judge and the Witness and the Defendant. To answer those statements, she used the theory of exchange and move. For the methodology, she used qualitative approach to collect the data and focus the analysis of it, which is the interrogation in a small case, armed robbery. By dividing the data and analyzing it by the theories, it has been found that the I R F
exchange occurs mostly. The Judge does the [Initiation] and [Follow-up], and the Witness and the Defendant do [Response]. In conclusion, the most occurance of the I R F exchange shows a suggestion that, the Judge, who does the [Initiation], must do the [Follow-up] after receiving the [Response] of the Witness and the Defendant.
