Abstract
The series is intended for teachers of all levels of experience who take a keen interest in educational reform and developments.
Each book offers the teacher:
• New ideas for immediate use in the classroom with lower level students, which can also be adapted for higher levels
• Development tasks to help relate the ideas in the book to the teacher’s particular circumstances
• Photocopiable templates and activities which teachers can adapt for their particular situation
• A clear system of referencing and indexing to allow the reader to select an idea which appeals and follow it through the book.
• Accessible, jargon-free language
Evaluating your Students examines the area of testing and evaluating in a problem-solving way. It presents the problem of why, when and how to evaluate; it analyses the criteria that make a test ‘good’ and helps you to apply these to your own testing. The book does this through an examination of current popular test types, encouraging teachers to adapt these to their own situations. As well as the traditional focus on the final written task, it also looks at other options, such as evaluating oral skills and continuous assessment.
