The Struggle to deal with desolation in some Hopkins' poems

This thesis is about Hopkins' struggle to deal
with desolation as seen through some of Hopkins' sonnets
of desolation To analyze the struggle, the writer
will discuss the desolation as well. The desolation is
the speaker' condition of being lonely due to his separation
from his beloved ones. It leads him to suffering,
particularly mental suffering. In his suffering,
the speaker has to struggle to deal with it. As the
author is deeply religious person, the struggle cannot
be apart from the author's belief. The purpose of this
thesis is to analyze the struggle of a deeply religious
person. After analyzing the eight sonnets using the
poetic devices and the elements of poetry, the thesis
writer concludes that the sonnets express the hard
struggles of a deep religious person to deal with
desolation and suffering.
