This study is about George Hoore, Esther yaters.
In this studyt the writer discusses the internal and
external confllcts of the main character, and also hop
she handles those conflicts. The main character, Esther
Maters, is struggling within herself and against other
people surrounding her, since she is pregnant and has
an illegitimate child. The topic is interesting to
discuss because Esther's life is a picture of a woman
who has to rear her illegitimate child by herself.
The main purpose of this study, is to shou the
conflicts of the main eharacter, Esther Maters, both
internal and external conflicts. Besides, the writer
also wants to know how the main character overeomes
those eonfliets which are not easy to face.
In analysing the main character's conflicts, the
way to overcome her conflicts, the writer uses data
from the novel Esther @aters, uhich is supported by the
literary theory of conflicts and some literary
criticism of the author and his work.
at last, from the analysis of the conflicts, the
writer finds out that Esther as the female main
character, can stand in facing confliets. She can
overcome her conflicts by her eare for others, her love
for her child, and also because of her faith in God.
