The Marital downfall in Tennessee Williams' clothes for a summer hotel

This thesis is a study concerning Tennessee
Williams'last major play,Clothes for a Summer Hotel.
Here,the study of the idea of popularity and ambition as
revealed through the main character,F.Scott Fitzgerald,
becomes the major problem of the analysis.Both popu-
larity and ambition have positive connotations.However,
in this play both ideas refer to negative connotations,
in a way that the influence of the popularity and ambi-
tion toward the main character,F.Scott Fitzgerald,
ruins his life.As a matter of fact,both ideas has led
this couple to their marital downfall which happens when
his wife,Zelda decides to leave him.
Scott Fitzgerald,who is a major writer,is obsessed
by his popularity and ambition.As an artist,he is
obsessed to create brilliant works in order to maintain
his good reputation as an outstanding writer.He be-
comes selfish,workaholic and alcoholic due to his
obsessions.His main purposes of life are writing and
maintaining his established reputation since he considers
