Illocutionary acts on the speech of Hillary Clinton: primary night speech

This research focuses on the application of the illocutionary act in the speech of Primary Night Speech by Hillary Clinton. The writer presented three statements of the problems : to find the types of illocutionary act which exist in the speech, to find the intended meaning, and to find the most frequent type of illocutionary act which occurred. The theories used to do the research are speech act, illocutionary act, pragmatics, social factor, and intended meaning. By using the descriptive method, the writer described the application of the types of illocutionary acts in each fragment in the speech. Therefore, the writer?s analysis resulted in the finding of all types of illocutionary acts in the speech and the representative as the most frequent type.
