The impact of board diversity on firm corporate risk-taking: case study on Indonesian mining industry

This research attempts to examine how board diversity impacts corporate risk-taking of Indonesian companies in mining industry. This study highlights the influence of five board diversity attributes, i.e. gender, nationality, age, education, and tenure, on corporate risk, i.e. total risk on 39 Indonesian mining companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange with observation periods from 2015 until 2020. The results are estimated using weighted least square model as its statistical approach method using the help of GRETL statistical software. The finding revealed that board gender diversity and board age diversity significantly influence corporate risk negatively. Whereas board nationality diversity, board education diversity, and board tenure diversity significantly influence corporate risk positively.
