A Study on the psychological effects of tess's being raped as seen in Thomas Hardy's tess of the D'urbervilles

This thesis deals with the effects of the main female character who has been raped which can be found in Thomas Hardy?s novel Tess of the d?Urbervilles. The thesis writer is interested in finding the effects that occur in Tess?s psychology after being raped. In this case, she wants to show some effects of Tess who is being raped. In this thesis, the thesis writer will use some theories such as characterization, conflict, and also the concept of rape as a supporting theory. The theory of characterization helps her see and know about the characteristics of the characters from their appearance, action, speech, and thought. Besides, the thesis writer also uses theory of conflict; she wants to analyze the conflict between Tess and herself and also the other characters concerning the effects of being raped. In addition, the concept of rape helps the thesis writer understand the effect of Tess?s being raped. As a result, the thesis writer found blaming, fear of the public, trauma, and depression as the effects of Tess?s being raped.
