The Study of subtitle translation in gone with the wind

The writer wants to find out how communicative the subtitle translation in "Gone With The Wind"is.He uses a single question as his statement of the problem, is the subtitle translation in "Gone With The Wind" communicative?There are several purposes in discussing this question.He is interested in finding out whether the subtitle translation is communicative or not according to communicative translation theory.The writer of this study then uses Communicative translation theory as his measuring tool to evaluate whether subtitle translation already fulfills all Communicative requirements that a subtitle translation needs to meet.He uses Hatim-Mason as his base for theory of subtitle translation,and Newmark theories for practical translation in subtitle.The writer uses qualitative approach and several research questions derived from the Review of Related Literature discussion.The analysis will be done in case by case study,with the help from tables.The raw data are put in the appendix.From the analysis,he concluded that the subtitle translation need some improvement in in the referential section besides the language.
