A Study of factors which lead Thomas Hudson to his failure in Ernest Hemingways Island in the Stream

This study is aimed at understanding the life of the main
character In Hemingway’s Island In The Stream, that is. Thomas
Hudson. As a famous and rich painter, he seems successful in his
life, but in other side, he is a failure. He fails in his two marriages, he
fails to express his love through his sons. Hudson’s life is full of pain
and misery. The writer curious to know about the factors which lead
Thomas Hudson to his failure. Through understanding the causes of
the failure of Thomas Hudson, the reader may know what kind of
person Hudson is. By using theory of characterization and some
theories of psychology, such as, theory of motivation, theory of
failure, theory of psychological death, and theory of personalities, the
writer finds that Hudson is a person who chooses to run away from
the reality and to solve his problem he prefers to drink alcohol and
works hard The way he solves his problem leads him to his downfall.
By studying the character in Island in The Stream, we will find a
lesson that every human being will face failure in his life. Through thisand do not ever try to run away from it.
if you run away from the reality, it could be danger our lives.
